Commission Disclosure

Drive Green is a broker and not a lender, and in line with the Financial Conduct Authority expectations we may receive a commission from introducing customers to a lender from whom they can arrange finance.

Any commission or financial consideration we receive from a lender will be fully disclosed to the customer.

We prominently disclose to the customer the existence, nature, and amount of any commission we will receive in all circumstances and for all products.  This disclosure is provided in good time before a motor finance agreement is entered into and is provided during the sales process ahead of acceptance and pre-contractual documentation.

The customer will always be provided with enough time and information to make an informed decision, and the customer will have the option not to proceed with the transaction.

The commission disclosure will include a ‘commission disclosure consent form’ as part of the pre-contractual documentation, both in person as well as through our digital processes and those of the lenders.

As we are acting as a credit broker, we are not providing fully impartial or independent financial advice or recommendations, as we are unable to offer a whole-of-market financial solution.

We work with and are able to provide finance from a limited lender panel, specially selected to enable a broad offering that means we can provide a suitable financial solution for most customers with a variety of credit ratings and needs.

Our panel has been chosen due to the competitiveness of their products within the financial market, to ensure that customers are able to get a truly competitive finance rate.  They have also been chosen due to their customer-friendly on-line digital processes, and their compliance with regulations.

The panel we use is MotoNoto (who are our primary lender due to the strength of their online digital processes as well as their low finance rates for the A1/A2 customers who make up the majority of our customers, and their special EV residual values consideration which makes them very competitive with EV PCP finance in particular,) Evolution Finance (who are able to connect us with a number of other finance companies, should a better finance deal available, or if a non-prime lender is required,) and Blue Motor Finance (who are available to provide finance for lower credit scoring customers.)

Through our panel we are able to help our customers obtain finance from the right lender to suit their credit position, at competitive rates, and via customer-friendly digital processes.

The fact that we have a separate funding commercial arrangements with our chosen primary lender MotoNovo may provide an incentive for us to refer business to them first, although our reasons for usually referring customers to MotoNovo in the first instance are in fact those laid out above and we will always try and connect a customer with the right finance company and finance product and deal for them.

However, due to these commercial arrangements and the commission payments we receive, it means we can’t be viewed as being able to provide fully impartial advice.

We explain that the finance product on offering may not be the best product available to the customer on the open market.

We remind customers that they have the right to ask questions, that our trained staff will answer.

We will always consider whether there are any other circumstances that may affect our impartiality or ability to act in the customer’s best interests and tell the customer about this.

Our commission disclosure is prominent and easily understood by customers.

Our staff are all SAF trained on all requirements, and the need for disclosure and consent, and they can clearly explain the commission model that we operate on.

Our aim at Drive Green is to help customers find the right EV for them, and then also the right finance product to help them purchase their chosen car.  This we will always perform with the best interests of our customers as our foremost priority.
