Renewable Energy Charging

By moving to an electric car you have already taken a very positive step towards a greener low carbon lifestyle and protecting the environment. Even using a conventional fossil-fuel generated grid to power your carbon emissions are vastly reduced. If however, you want to really minimise your carbon impact we suggest looking into renewable electricity. To us, EVs and renewable energy generation go hand in hand.

Integration

There are two ways that EV owners typically approach renewable integration. The first is buying electricity from a 100% renewable energy supplier such as Ecotricity, and it is the simplest and most cost-effective way to run your EV with zero carbon emissions.

There are multiple Green Energy Suppliers out there, and pretty much every energy provider now has a green energy tariff available you can and should switch to.

We particularly like Ecotricity, because they produce so much of their own 100% green energy, and they have a great re-investment strategy, putting profits back into new renewable installations, making Ecotricity perhaps the greenest of all energy companies.

We recommend making the change to a green energy provider or a renewable energy tariff, even if you’re not considering an electric car.

Domestic Solar PV Systems

The second option is to generate your own electricity from your own solar PV panel array. This will give you completely green and sustainable electric power, that you can use to power your home, as well as charge your EV free of any cost.

The energy to power your vehicle comes from literally a few meters away with no carbon footprint and no cost. Many EV owners think of purchasing a solar system as pre-buying their fuel for the next few years.
